Named for Lewis Latimer and Frederick Douglass

In 1842, Frederick Douglass spoke up for George Latimer, who had escaped slavery and been arrested in Boston. Fifty-two years later, Douglass wrote to George's son Lewis to say his letter had made him proud. Lewis Latimer spent his life making ordinary things work better. This company tries to do the same, and carries both names.
